ROAD Forward

Broadening Horizons & Closing the Opportunity Gap

Communities are only as strong as the opportunities, safety and support they provide to their children. That’s why the Enterprise Holdings ROAD Forward initiative is aimed at addressing the widening opportunity gaps across three key focus areas—early childhood development, youth health & wellness and career & college preparation.

In 2020, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation pledged $55 million over five years to organizations that advance social and racial equity. Because when we deepen Respect, we expand Opportunity. When we expand opportunity, we enable Achievement. And when we enable achievement, we unleash the power of Diversity in our neighborhoods and workplaces.

Of the full pledge, $20 million was distributed to four nationally-renowned nonprofit partners to enhance their work to support young people in underserved communities: The Obama Foundation’s My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, UNCF, Girls Inc. and Parents as Teachers.

At the heart of ROAD Forward are the values that have been part of Enterprise Holdings since its founding—but now, more than ever, we feel a sense of urgency to ensure a thriving community and wealth of opportunities are available to everyone.

Committed to the Communities We Serve

Key Partnerships

We’re proud to partner with some of the most impactful and trusted organizations in the United States that support racial equity across our three focus areas (early childhood development, youth health & wellness and career & college preparation).

Providing college scholarships and other programs for under-represented students that prepares them for rich intellectual lives, competitive and fulfilling careers, engaged citizenship and service back to their communities.

Building safe and supportive communities for boys and young men of color where they are valued and have clear pathways to opportunity.

Helping all girls grow up “strong, smart and bold” by equipping them with the skills to navigate economic, gender and social barriers and to grow up healthy, educated and independent.

Building strong communities, thriving families and children who are healthy, safe and ready to learn by matching parents and caregivers with trained professionals who make regular personal home visits during a child’s earliest years in life.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Our doors are open. See why leaving a legacy of diversity is one of our founding values.
