Enterprise Gala Dinner Raises Un-Bear-lievable £300,000+ for Children in Need

EGHAM (Oct. 14, 2019) – As part of a fundraising initiative to mark its 25th anniversary celebration in the UK, Egham-based Enterprise Rent-A-Car has raised an incredible £318,903 for Children in Need at a gala dinner in October which kicked off a month of charity events across the country.

Attended by over 540 people at the Natural History Museum in London, the event is a major step in helping Enterprise to hit its target of raising £500,000 for Children in Need in 2019.

The event was hosted by comedian and impressionist Rory Bremner and Thomas Forrester from BBC’s Bargain Hunt hosted an auction [both pictured].

The evening began when a brand-new Aston Martin DB11 from Enterprise’s Exotic Cars Collection arrived at the museum, filled to the brim with Pudsey bears – unusually so for one of the world’s best-loved luxury supercars.

Enterprise employees – including the 500 people based in Egham – have gone all out to raise money for Children in Need this year. Groups have taken part in daring initiatives including sky dives, bungee jumps and mountain treks.

Khaled Shahbo, Managing Director of Enterprise UK & Ireland, said: “Giving back to the community has been part of the Enterprise way of life since we were established. So we are so grateful to all our employees, customers, suppliers and the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation for their support in our campaign to raise as much money for Children in Need as possible to mark 25 years of Enterprise in the UK. Attendees at the gala dinner were incredibly generous and helped us to smash our fundraising target for the evening and make a fantastic start towards our final goal.

“We’ve had teams pushing themselves to the limit to raise money for Children in Need this year. Some have taken part in incredible challenges, from 100 mile plus Birmingham to Egham cycle races to a 50km trek on Mont Blanc. Others have washed cars and sold cakes. Everyone has found a way to get involved. We’d like to thank the team for going above and beyond, and everyone who has donated to help us raise such a remarkable sum for a very worthwhile cause.”
